“Shirak” airport of the second in size Armenian city of Gyumri will henceforward be considered as a spare one in the South Caucasian region. As Armenian Civil Aviation Central Administrative Board told “Noyan Tapan” agency, the Tbilisi airport was considered to be such in the region before. It was also noted that practice flights of A-310 and A-320 airbuses of “Armavia” and “Sibiravia” air companies were held at “Shirak” airport October 10-13. These companies have bought airplanes for performing joint flights mainly to CIS cities. It was noted that in case of need IL-86 planes can also land there.
