“Sirkap-Armenia” Swiss firm has bought 70% of shares of the Stepanakert industrial complex, which was one of the leading enterprises of Nagorno Karabakh during the Soviet years. In the words of industrial complex executive director Pavel Najarian, the Swiss firm pledged to cover all enterprise debts and invest over $500 thousand before 2003. The granite and marble slab, as well as souvenir shop will be put into operation. The production will be sold at the local market, as well as in Armenia, Russia and other countries. In Najarian’s words, Italian specialists visited the industrial complex and noted the high quality of the Karabakh stone and its competitive ability at the Western market.
