A group of deputies and experts of Russian State Duma, who had arrived in Stepanakert within the framework of celebrating the days of the “Union of Armenians of Russia” in Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, met with Nagorno Karabakh President Arkady Ghukasian. At the instance of the guests Arkady Ghukasian acquainted them with the present situation in the Karabakh conflict settlement, as well as with the official Stepanakert’s position in the negotiation process under the aegis of the OSCE Minsk group. The President also reported about the steps made by the Nagorno Karabakh leadership to form civil society in the republic, as well as to create favorable conditions for economic development. The meeting participants concurred that it was necessary to consolidate the spiritual and cultural ties between the Russian and Nagorno Karabakh societies.
