NAGORNO KARABAKH FOREIGN MINISTRY CALLED PACE “TO END AZERI SLANDER”

Nagorno Karabakh foreign minister Naira Melkumian has sent a letter to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and other interested international organizations requesting to put an end to the Azeri slander. “Most of the PACE Azeri delegation’s accusations of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh do not make reference to concrete sources. To verify the data via its representations abroad the Nagorno Karabakh foreign ministry addressed those few state structures, scientific institutions and editions, to which the Azeri party referred. The official responses received evidence that the sources mentioned either do not exist, or the information does not correspond to the reality,” – the message says. The letter also notes that the spreading of malevolent slander is part of the information war against Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, which is regarded as propagandistic preparation to resumption of hostilities. It also stresses that the high rank officials of Azerbaijan continue making statements about their readiness to solve the Nagorno Karabakh problem via military means and reject the Nagorno Karabakh and the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs’ proposals to establish confidence measures in the region. The document says that such policy of official Baku runs counter to the commitment to attain settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict via peaceful means given by Azerbaijan when accepted into the Council of Europe. The NKR foreign minister’s message has two attachments, one of which provides disproof of the information given by Azerbaijan, and the other contains Azeri officials’ statements calling to resume war.
