KEY CONDITION FOR SECURITY STRENGTHENING IN SOUTH CAUCASUS IS COOPERATION OF ALL STATES OF REGION

The key condition for security strengthening and cooperation development in the South Caucasus is the cooperation of all states of the region. This was stated at the meeting of Armenian president Robert Kocharian and Ukrainian president Leonid Kuchma, who is visiting Yerevan. The presidents expressed readiness to assist with all the initiatives of the international community that are to create atmosphere of trust and cooperation in the region. The sides spoke for the political and peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the nearest future. “In that context, Ukraine welcomes the continued dialog on the highest level between Armenia and Azerbaijan”, stated Kuchma.
