ISSUES OF GEORGIAN-AMERICAN MILITARY COOPERATION DISCUSSED IN TBILISI

Issues of American-Georgian military cooperation were discussed in Tbilisi with participation of the US defense minister councilor for Georgia Otar Shalikashvili and the second deputy defense minister Mira Rikardeli. As the second deputy minister stated in his interview with Georgian media, at the talks with the Georgian side, the issues regarding activities of the Georgian law-enforcement bodies in Pankisi gorge and the issue regarding training of Georgian soldiers in American military institutions were discussed. According to Rikardeli, the US will help Georgia to have joint armed forces to correspond to the European-Atlantic security system. Washington is interested in security and stability in Caucasus, stated the US deputy defense minister.
