OSCE REPRESENTATIVE CALLS ON AZERBAIJAN TO FULFILL INTERNATIONAL COMMITMENTS ON PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS

Head of the OSCE in Azerbaijan, Ambassador Peter Burhard has called on the official Baku to fulfill its international commitments on protection of human rights. The cause for Burhard’s statement was the speech of Azeri education minister Misir Mardanov, who expressed displeasure with participation of students in the opposition meetings. “Freedom of speech is the main in human rights, one of the corner stones of the democratic society. That is guaranteed with the law and its protection is one of the key objectives”, the European diplomat stated.
