ARMENIAN PRESIDENT TO PARTICIPATE IN CIS STATE-MEMBERS HEADS SUMMIT

Armenian president Robert Kocharian will leave for Kishinev October 6 to participate in the meeting of the heads of the CIS state-members. Issues regarding increase of efficiency of activities of CIS bodies, establishment of free trade zone, forming of the CIS anti-terror center in the Central Asia, organization of illegal migration response will be discussed in Moldavia’s capital. During the summit, a program of development of CIS state-members cooperation in the sphere of border guarding is going to be passed. The issue on having CIS observers at the parliamentary elections in Armenia in 2003 is also on the agenda. Within the framework of the summit of the CIS state-members in Kishinev, the Armenian president will have bilateral meetings with the heads of Russia and Georgia Vladimir Putin and Eduard Shevardnadze. On the initiative of the OSCE Minsk group on Nagorno-Karabakh, the meeting of Robert Kocharian and Azeri president Heydar Aliyev is also expected.
