ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF SOUTH CAUCASIAN STATES POSSIBLE IF REGIONAL ISSUES SETTLED WITH OWN EFFORTS

Despite the existence of a number of confrontations in South Caucasus, Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan have quite close economic relations that will be on completely different level under the conditions of further reconstruction processes in the region. Georgian parliament vice-Speaker Wahtang Kolbaya stated that speaking at the “Outline of the development program in Armenia” conference taking place in Yerevan. According to him, the economic progress for the South Caucasian region is possible if the regional confrontations and problems are settled by own efforts. According to him, the economic development is also possible if the interests of the three states are realized within the regional scope and within the international scope, if the South Caucasian states have close relations with the states and unions outside the region. “This is quite real in the new world as the Caucasus and Central Asia have inexhaustible potential that is of interest of all the states of the world”.
