Levon Aronian, Samuel Sevian brace for tiebreakers at World Chess Cup

Armenia's Levon Aronian and Samuel Sevian representing the United States will play tiebreakers after drawing their respective games against Hou Yifan and Li Chao, both from China, in round 2 of the World Chess Cup.

Meanwhile, reigning world champion Magnus Carlsen, Vladimir Kramnik and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave have already secured their places in round 3.

Aronian won the Stavanger-hosted Norway Chess tournament in June, 2017, also snatching victory at the Saint Louis Rapid and Blitz tournament two months later.
