Beginning with November 1 Armenian citizens leaving for Russia for work or study will need to have a special migration card. As reported by the chief of the representation of the federal migration service of the Russian ministry of internal affairs Yevgeny Chernetsov, the necessity to introduce such a card system is conditioned by the fact that citizens of many countries including Armenia often go abroad with expired or invalid documents. The migration cards will consist of two parts: one will be kept in Russian internal affair bodies, and the other will be handed to the visitors to confirm their right to stay on the Russian territory. The passport data of the foreigner, as well as the aim of his arrival to Russia will be mentioned on the cards. The cards for different categories of visitors, e.g. students, tourists or working migrants are expected to differ in color. The persons arriving in Russia for a short period, e.g. as guests, to participate in wedding or burial ceremonies will not need to have such cards, the Russian Federal Migration Service representative emphasized.
