Finally, the politicians will have to recognize the existing reality – i.e. Nagorno Karabakh as an independent territory or republic, which will later unite with Armenia. Russian State Duma expert Viktor Sheinis, who is in Nagorno Karabakh as an observer of the NKR presidential elections, told “De Facto” agency about it. “I think no one except the Nagorno Karabakh people has the right to make a decision for them – either Baku, Washington or Moscow,” – he noted regarding the statements of the European Union and other international structures, which had expressed their negative attitude towards the elections. “I think, the existing reality in Nagorno Karabakh conforms to the democratic ideas of the beginning of the 21-st century: here people, who are under very difficult military conditions, did not establish dictatorship, police or military regime, but are confidently moving towards the recognition of the democratic values common to all humankind: free elections, freedom of press, opportunity of opposition to put forward its own candidates. I consider it extremely important,” – the Russian politician stressed.
