ACTING NAGORNO KARABAKH LEADER ARKADY GHUKASIAN WON PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS HELD YESTERDAY

Acting Nagorno Karabakh President Arkady Ghukasian, who gathered 89% of the votes, won the presidential elections held there August 11. The NKR Central Electoral Commission reported it today on the basis of the final results of the elections. The rest of the candidates for the post of the Nagorno Karabakh president respectively gathered: former NKR parliament Speaker Artur Tovmasian 7.7%, leader of the Christian-Democratic party of NKR Albert Ghazarian – 2.1%, and the co-chair of “Unity” public-political organization Grigory Afanasian – 1.3% of the total number of constituency suffrages.
