RUSSIA HAS TO COME OUT AGAINST ATTEMPTS OF NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT SETTLEMENT IN MILITARY WAY, RUSSIAN POLITICAL SCIENTIST THINKS

Any radical changes in the approach to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement are not to be expected in the nearest future, as the positions of the parties are clear enough. CIS institute director Constantin Zatulin, who was in Nagorno-Karabakh on a short visit, has stated this opinion in his interview with «De-Facto» agency. According to him, at present, the main issue of the parties of the negotiation process should be keeping of the status quo, in other words the peace, and discussion of all the proposals at the negotiation table. Zatulin especially noted that in view of the recent statement of Heydar Aliyev on that if the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is not settled in peaceful way in the nearest future, then Azerbaijan will settle the issue itself through use of force. «We condemn that categorically and think Russia must speak out against such attempts of the conflict settlement as well as such statements», Zatulin noted.
