Russia tries to make its constructive contribution to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. As Russian ambassador to Turkey Alexander Lebedev stated in his interview with the Turkish media, this will help to improve the relations between Yerevan and Baku as well as between Tbilisi and Sukhumi and Tbilisy and Tskhinvali. According to him relations between Russia and every South Caucasian state are to be considered separately. Russia has “very good relations” with Azerbaijan. Yerevan-Moscow relations were characterized by the ambassador as “fine”, at that, the ambassador noted the current disagreements between Russia and Georgia. The diplomat especially noted that one of the serious factors of the normal relations between Russia and South Caucasian states is that many Azeris, Armenians and Georgian are residing in Russia, working and even filling key posts in political, economic and cultural spheres.
