RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT SATISFIED WITH LOGICAL CONCLUSION OF TALKS ON REPAYMENT OF ARMENIAN STATE DEBT TO RUSSIA

The Russian government is satisfied with the logical completion of the negotiation process on the transfer of a number of Armenian enterprises for repayment of the 100-million Armenian State debt to Russia. As a source from the RF cabinet of ministers has reported to Russian “Vedomosti” newspaper, there was a risk that the debt could have been included in the “unpaid debts” as Russia cannot get a penny from most countries on the same level of development as Armenia. According the ex-head of the department of foreign relations of the RF finances Ministry Andrey Cherepanov, this variant of the debt repayment is quite profitable for Armenia as well. “Russia will have to develop those enterprises through investments to the Armenian economy”, he noted. Programs regarding the Razdan thermoelectric power station and “Mars factory” are already being developed in the RF government. As the deputy head of the RF government administration Aleksey Volin has stated, the production of the Razdan TEP will be realized fully and, in particular, will supply all the Caucasian region with power. As regards the “Mars” factory, that was equipped with modern western equipment just before the collapse of the USSR, so at present it delivers electronics to a number of Russian enterprises including the enterprises of the military-industrial establishment. “So, we will restore the technological line within Russia”, Volin stated.
