Armenian chess players Levon Babudjyan, Aghasi Inants and Sargis Sargsyan are leading the А2 and С tournaments of Aeroflot Open 2009 with 2 points.
Rafael Vahanyan, A tournament member, occupies the 4-26 positions with 1.5 points.
Dresden Olympiad champions Gabriel Sargsyan, Artashes Minasyan and Tigran Petrosyan, grandmasters Zaven Andreasyan and Hrant Melkumyan as well as Armenian champion Arman Pashikyan gained 1 point each.
The A1 tournament winner will be awarded 21000 euro; A2 tournament winner will be awarded 9000 euro, B1 tournament winner will be awarded 3500 euro and C tournament winner will be awarded 2000 euro.
Aeroflot Open 2009 prize fund totals 180000 euro.
A blitz tournament with 40000 prize fund will also be held.
