AGREEMENT ON TRANSFER OF ENTERPRISES FOR REPAYMENT OF ARMENIAN STATE DEBT TO RUSSIA TO BE SIGNED IN YEREVAN TOMORROW

The agreement of transfer of enterprises for the repayment of the Armenian State debt to Russia will be signed in Yerevan tomorrow. The Armenian-Russian intergovernmental committee on economic cooperation co-chair, the industry, science and technologies minister of Russian Ilya Klebanov has stated that on his arrival in Yerevan. According to him, “This is a key agreement between the two states that was worked on hard”. Klebanov noted all the technical issues would be settled until the year-end. He stated, from 1 January 2003 the issue on Armenian debt to Russia will not be brought up. Speaking about the enterprises that will be transferred for repayment of the debt, he reported “the enterprises are already determined and there are no changes regarding that issue”. Klebanov noted it was reached agreement that the Razdan thermoelectric power station fifth unit would not be included in the debt sum. According to his evaluations, the price for the enterprises is optimum on average and corresponds to the debt amount. It should be reminded, Ilya Klebanov has arrived with a short business visit in Yerevan today. During the visit, he will meet with the Armenian leadership.
