The Moscow region governor Boris Gromov does not relate the mass skirmish between the local young people and representatives of the Armenia community in Krasnoarmeysk town with demonstration of inter-ethnic discord. According to him, “it began with a quarrel on a domestic basis and that resulted in the actions that might be characterized as inter-ethnic discord”. As Gromov stated, regarding that, a special consultation with participation of officials of the Office of Public Prosecutor and the local department of internal affairs would be conducted. The main task of the Krasnoarmeysk local department of internal affairs, according to the governor, is exactly prevention of the changes of the inter-ethnic situation in the Moscow region.
