Monument to Viktor Hambartsumyan inaugurated in Iranian technological center

Iran technological center Pardis, located not far from Tehran, inaugurated a monument to Victor Hambartsumyan, an outstanding Armenian scientist.
The astrophysicist’s monument was delivered to Tehran from Armenia thanks to joint efforts of Iran Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Embassy of Armenia in Iran.
Victor Hambartsumyan’s monument inauguration served as a start for a program dedicated to creation of a memorial park to feature monuments of famous scientists from 30 countries over the world.

During the inauguration ceremony the Armenian Ambassador to Iran Karen Shakhnazaryan expressed his gratitude to organizers of the event and UNESCO representative in Iran related to inauguration participants about interesting facts of Victor Hambartsumyan’s biography.

Padis Technological Center Director Mr. Safarania thanked participants and congratulated outstanding astrologist’s compatriots.

Victor Hambartsumyan (1908-1996), was a renowned scientist, whose discoveries have marked the directions of development of astrophysics in the past century. A founder of the universally known Byurakan observatory, he became the laureate of many awards and was announced the national hero of Armenia.

Pardis Technology Park was founded in 2001. Pardis Park mission is to create a suitable environment for technology professionals, researchers, academics, The park is around 20 hectares and has an annual budget of USD 80 million.
