MEMORIAL TO NEW YORK SEPTEMBER TERRORIST ACT VICTIMS UNVEILED IN ARARAT

Today in Armenian town Ararat, Memorial to victims of the September 11 terrorist acts in New York was unveiled. The memorial made in symbolic style is two high plates representing towers of the New York trade center, with the eternity symbol on top. According to the Ararat town authorities, “The memorial is built on a public basis that is an evidence of the sincere sympathy with the American people as Armenians are familiar perfectly with the horrors of genocide and sufferings”. The location of the memorial is also nonrandom – near the memorial to the 1915 Armenian genocide victims. The US Ambassador to Armenia John Ordway expressed gratitude to the Ararat town authorities for sympathy. The diplomat expressed confidence that the Memorial would become the symbol of friendship of Armenian and American people.
