There are several disagreements among the branches of the power regarding the issue of the abolition of the capital punishment in Armenia from the standpoint of obligations of Armenia to the European Council. Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian has stated that in his interview with “Liberty” radio station. “The disagreements are mainly between the executive and legislative authorities”, the Armenian foreign minister noted adding that the executive authority definitely comes out in favor of the capital punishment.
