CE SECRETARY GENERAL WELCOMES ARMENIA’S PROGRESS IN FULFILLMENT OF OBLIGATIONS TO EUROPEAN COUNCIL

The process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement and the relations with neighbors including the opportunities to establish relations with Turkey were discussed today by Council of Europe Secretary General Walter Schwimmer who is in Yerevan on a business visit and Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian. The parties noted, in the process of the Karabakh conflict settlement it is necessary to make all the efforts to reach peaceful settlement of the conflict. Schwimmer welcomed Armenia’s progress in the fulfillment of the obligations to the Council of Europe and expressed hope that several troubles in the fulfillment that the European Council takes with understanding would be settled with time.
