Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that a "preliminary meeting" within the "3+2" format will be held on December 10, with Armenia set to participate in it.
The proposed regional platform, initially dubbed "3+3", was supposed to serve as a cooperation mechanism between Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Russia and Turkey. However, Georgia has already opted out of it.
Pashinyan told lawmakers on Wednesday, December 8 that Armenia might be interested in the format if issues that Armenia is involved in within other platforms, are not discussed in this one. According to him, Deputy Foreign Ministers of the five countries are set to participate in the meeting, Aysor.am reports.
The Prime Minister noted that the Armenian government has decided to pursue an active regional policy, and the authorities are already working on that.
