BAKU OPPOSITION AGAIN ACCUSED OSCE OF CONSPIRACY WITH AZERI AUTHORITIES

Leader of one of oppositionist parties of Azerbaijan Etibar Mamedov has again made a statement on “conspiracy” between OSCE and the Azeri authorities in preparing the electoral code and organizing elections in the country. As reported by “Arminfo” agency, at the meeting with representative of the US National Democratic Institute Tomas Barry Mamedov spoke of contradictory statements of the OSCE Baku and Warsaw offices regarding submission of the electoral code bill for expert examination and pointed out that such discrepancy undermined Azeri population’s faith in international organizations and seriously harmed the democratic process. Mamedov also said that the process of preparation of amendments to the Constitution had been held under the conditions of secrecy and very little time remained for discussing them. In his turn, Tomas Barry expressed disturbance on the occasion of elimination of the political forces of Azerbaijan from the process related to the coming referendum on making amendments in the Constitution and the development of the electoral code.
