NA Commission to investigate Azerbaijan’s 2020 aggression

An investigative commission has been set up in the Armenian National Assembly to investigate the hostilities unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) on September 27, 2020.

The commission was established on the initiative of deputies from Civil Contract, the party said in a statement on Thursday, February 10.

"The powers of the commission will be exercised by the Standing Committee on Defense and Security," the statement signed by the NA Deputy Speaker, Acting Speaker Hakob Arshakyan said.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9, 2020 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
