The head of the department for Europe and Asia of «IFES» American organization Scott Lansell in fact denied the statements on the conducting of «separate» negotiations with the Azeri authorities regarding the preparation of the new election code of the country. It should be reminded the leader of one of the leading opposition parties of Azerbaijan -AMIP-Etibar Mamedov spoke with such accusations. He accused the IFES, OSCE and Council of Europe of «a deal» with the Azeri leadership for the development of pro-authority election code. «The IFES realizes that present drawbacks make manipulations during the election process possible», Lansell stated. In this connection, the IFES is interested in participation of all the political forces in the process of the election reforms and urges the Azeri government to publish the documents regarding the preparation of new election code, he noted.
