Armenia ambassador-at-large slams Baku’s narrative on Karabakh

Ambassador-at-large, head of the Bright Armenia party Edmon Marukyan believes that Azerbaijan is pushing a narrative that the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh should either stay on Baku’s terms or leave their homes.

“Azerbaijan is pushing forward a narrative that Armenians living in Nagorno-Karabakh for centuries should either stay on AZ terms or leave for a third country, claiming that this isn't an ethnic cleansing,” Marukyan said on twitter Wednesday, November 2.

“I'm curious whether the authors of this thesis believe in what they say?”

The latest round of fighting between the two countries began in the wee hours of September 13, when the Azerbaijani military attacked Armenian posts and shelled Armenian settlements both on the border and deep behind the frontline. More than 200 people are dead or missing as a result, the Security Council of Armenia said on Monday.
