The Armenian-Turkish relations do not have to be conditioned with the relations with the third party. Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian stated that speaking in the Center for economic and social studies of Turkey. As reported in the RA MFA press service, Vardan Oskanian called to establishment of diplomatic relations with Turkey without any preconditions. This does not mean, the Armenian foreign minister noted, Armenia is ready to recede from its national memory or ignore the historic injustice that it has suffered from for many long years. Speaking on the Armenian-Turkish relations from the angle of the neighboring countries, Vardan Oskanian noted, the fate and lives of our people and countries are interrelated taking into consideration the fact that we are neighbors and have common history and geography. Speaking on the issues of regional conflicts as well as the conflicts with historic background, Vardan Oskanian noted, such issues «cannot be settled or slightly modified by those who are sure that the past is not important. The history as well as geography are a basis for the relations between the neighboring countries». The minister noted with satisfaction that regarding the genocide issue, there is advancement from the strict and undifferentiated position to dispute allowing different points of views and different approaches to the issue. «Finally the recollection cannot be recovered with negation», Oskanian stated.
