Turkey is ready to make its positive contribution to the process of the Karabakh conflict settlement. Turkish foreign minister Ismail Cem has stated that commenting the results of the meeting with Azeri president Heydar Aliyev in Istanbul. The main topic of the meeting, according to the minister, was the opportunities of the further assistance of Turkey in the stabilization of the situation in the South Caucasus and settlement of the Karabakh conflict. Speaking on the possibility of the continuation of the trilateral dialog of the Azeri, Armenian and Turkish foreign ministers, Ismail Cem noted, at the meeting in Reykjavik, a useful exchange of views had taken place that might be continued in both trilateral and bilateral formats.
