The National Assembly on Wednesday, April 12 elected Deputy Prosecutor General Anahit Manasyan as Armenia’s newest Human Rights Defender.
69 deputies out of 107 cast secret ballots, all of them voting in favor of Manasyan’s candidacy.
Manasyan was nominated by the ruling Civil Contract party, after former MP Kristinne Grigoryan submitted a resignation letter to the National Assembly on January 23 to pursue another job.
