Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan on Friday, June 16 published an ad hoc report on the humanitarian consequences of the blocking of the Lachin corridor and sent it to international organizations, Manasyan’s office said in a statement.
In the report, the Human Rights Defender weighed in on the human rights violations caused by the blocking of the corridor and the installation of a checkpoint by Azerbaijan, statements made by high-ranking Azerbaijani officials, public and political figures containing Armenophobic expressions, hate speech, threats of use of force, as well as the reaction of the Azerbaijani society to the installation of the checkpoint.
the report argues that the statements of the Azerbaijani officials since the blockade of the Lachin corridor indicate that both the rallies of the alleged environmental protests and the installation of the checkpoint are aimed at depriving the Armenians of Artsakh of vital goods and services, creating a humanitarian crisis and forcing people to leave their homes.
The ad hoc report on the violations of the rights of the Armenians of Artsakh have been sent to international organizations and actors mandated with the protection of human rights, and competent state bodies.
