In Stepanakert, the statement of the representative of the State depatment of the USA Fillip Riker on the support of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and non-recognition of independence of Nagorno-Karabalkh was taken as the «reflection of the present state of Nagorno-Karabakh, in other words that it is is unrecognized.». «In fact, the US is interested in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict as soon as possible and this statement does not mean Washington has already determined the results of the conflict settlement». As reported by «De-Facto» agency, the head of the NKR presidnet’s informational depatment Aleksander Grigorian, commenting the above mentioned statement of the State Department representatives, made concerning the OSCE MG American co-chair Roudolf Perina with NKR foreign minister Naira Melkumian, has stated that. According to Grigorian, the Nagorno Karabakh status will be determined as a result of the negotiation process. Noting the fact that Karabakh did not participated in the recent talks, Grigorian has noted that people in Stepanakert cannot understand ” how the Karabakh status can be determined without participation of Karabakh”. “We can discuss the issue on the status as well as our relations with Azerbaijan in any format. But the direct relations between Baku and Stepanakert are out of question”, the head of the informational department has stated making the addition that in that case there would be no Armenians in Karabakh.
