The Armenian customs officers stopped the attempt of the illegal importation of compact disks and packages to the sum of 1 million 55 thousand drams. 840 compact disks, 1483 packages were concealed in the technical chamber of the Moscow-Yerevan flight airplane. As reported in the Customs Committee of Republic of Armenia, two officials of the engineering base tried to smuggle contraband in a bag escaping the customs inspection. Recently the RA Customs committee has managed to suppress other 12 attempts of the illegal importation of excise-free cigarettes. During last week the Customs committee seized 270 packages of “Marlboro” cigarettes that were tried to be imported by the passengers of the “Dubai-Yerevan” flight. The above mentioned case is investigated.
