French foreign ministry harshly criticized the Azeri President for violating the principle of confidentiality regarding the arrangements on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement reached in Paris. According to the information provided by “Arminfo” agency, French foreign ministry press secretary Catherine Valiski stated, “Official Paris was surprised by the fact of Aliyev divulging some of the details of the Parisian negotiations.” “The details of the negotiations should have remained confidential until the parties reach agreement.” At the same time Valiski refused to confirm or deny Aliyev’s statements on interchange of the Meghri corridor by the Lachin one. “President Aliyev is free in his statements and we cannot comment on his words,” – she said. In the press secretary’s words, French President Jacques Chiraq does not plan organizing a new meeting of the Armenian and Azeri parties yet. It is important for the OSCE Minsk Group to continue its activities on settling the Nagorno Karabakh conflict,” – the French foreign ministry press secretary stressed.
