ARMENIAN PRESIDENT’S FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT TO BALTIC COUNTRIES TO BEGIN JUNE 24

The first official visit of Armenian President Robert Kocharian to Baltic countries – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – will begin June 24. The Armenian leader will first visit Vilnius, where he will hold negotiations with Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus. The same day wide membership Armenian-Lithuanian negotiations will be held, at the completion of which agreement on cooperation between the defense ministries of Armenia and Lithuania will be signed. The President will also visit Palanga city, where he will familiarize himself with the operation of the state port and oil terminal of Klaipeda. June 26 the Armenian delegation headed by R.Kocharian will arrive in Riga, where the Armenian President will negotiate with Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberga. A number of bilateral agreements will be signed by the end of the wide membership Armenian-Latvian negotiations. R.Kocharian will hold negotiations with his Estonian counterpart Arnold Ruutel in Tallinn June 27. At the end of the wide membership Armenian-Estonian negotiations intergovernmental accord on trade-economic cooperation will be signed.
