Today at approximately 10 a.m. local time dean of the Russian Language and Literature department of the Yerevan State University Karen Mkrtchian was fired at by unknown persons. As reported by the Armenian Public Television according to the witnesses’ evidence, the criminals shot at K. Mkrtchian at the moment he left the house in Sayat-Nova street, after that they escaped by a white “Niva” with foreign numbers. The police refrained from providing any information concerning the incident.
