A strong and combat-ready army is one of the most important factors in ensuring the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Armenia, Ambassador of Armenia to the Russia Vagharshak Harutyunyan said at a reception on the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the Armenian armed forces.
Harutyunyan emphasized the importance of reforms in the army, especially given the current situation in the region.
The ambassador also noted the role of Russia in the formation of the Armenian Armed Forces, and touched upon Armenian-Russian cooperation in the defense sector.
Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense of Russia, ambassadors of foreign states accredited in Russia, military attaches, representatives of the Armenian church and community attended the ceremony.
