RUSSIAN AUTHORITIES ADMIT SOLVING TURK-MESKHETIAN PROBLEM VIA RESETTLEMENT IN TURKEY

The special group on the problem of Turk-Meskhetians created within the Federal migration service of Russia is authorized to negotiate with official Ankara to determine the further fate of the ethnic Turks deported from Georgia in 1944. At the same time the service leadership insists on fulfillment of Georgia’s obligations to the Council of Europe. Let us remind that official Tbilisi has committed itself to solve the question of returning the Turk-Meskhetians to Samtskhe-Javakhetia province populated by Armenians.
