“Officer’s Honor,” “Valiant Warriors,” “Regiment,” “Light,” “Retired Officers” and the representatives of the abolished special destination militia detachment have created a new political party of left-centric doctrine called “Fatherland and Honor.” As reported by “Arminfo” agency, National Assembly deputy, former member of People’s Party Manuk Gasparian has headed the party. Ex-Minister of Internal Affairs Levon Galstian is deputy chairman of the party. In Manuk Gasparian’s words, today they will appeal to the Ministry of Justice to register the party. Manuk Gasparian also reported that the newly created party already has 3700 members and is mainly composed of retired officers. The party intends to participate in the coming parliamentary elections, the deputy also stressed. In his words, “Fatherland and Honor” will support a common opposition candidate at the presidential elections. “If the opposition does not put forward a united candidature, the party will nominate its own candidacy for the presidential elections,” – Gasparian noted.
