The Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Anahit Manasyan, issued a message on the occasion of Army Day, congratulating all servicemen and emphasizing the importance of protecting human rights and ensuring the rule of law in the armed forces.
“Dear compatriots, honorable servicemen, I congratulate you on the 33rd anniversary of the Army's establishment. The army is one of the pillars of our independent statehood and a key guarantor of national security. Ensuring the protection of human rights and the rule of law within the armed forces is of paramount importance and remains a priority in my activities. The protection of the rights of every member of the armed forces is always at the center of my attention,” Manasyan stated.
The Ombudswoman also touched upon the work carried out by her office, highlighting the significance of regular visits to military units and institutions. During these visits, she meets servicemen, learns about their concerns, and proposes solutions to address these issues.
“For the systemic problems we identify, appropriate proposals and solutions are developed and submitted to relevant state bodies,” Manasyan added.
In conclusion, the Ombudswoman wished the military safe service and peace and prosperity for the country.
On January 28, Armenia marked the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces.
