RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING ARMENIAN GENOCIDE SUPPORTED BY 30 US SENATORS

The number of senators supporting the resolution devoted to the 15-th anniversary of the UN convention “On Genocide Condemnation and Prevention”, in which the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey is as well mentioned, amounted to 30. As reported by the Armenian National Committee of America, the present document is concordant with the 193-th resolution presented to the US House of Representatives and approved by its Juridical Committee May 21. The Senate resolution also maintains information about mass crimes committed in the 20-th century, particularly about the Armenian Genocide of 1915 in Ottoman Turkey, the Holocaust as well as the genocides in Namibia, Burundi, Cambodia, Sudan, Rwanda and Bosnia.
