Fine for failure to submit tax declaration set at AMD 5,000

The National Assembly's Civil Contract faction held a meeting with SRC Chairman Eduard Hakobyan to discuss the issue of universal declaration. The SRC head noted that the deadline for submitting income declarations for 2024 is November 1, 2025.

He also outlined the administrative measures planned for non-submission of declarations, as reported by Aravot.

"First, we provide an opportunity for correction. A citizen, after submitting a declaration once, has the chance to submit it a second time, correcting their declaration. The next step, if we ourselves see some issue, we again provide an opportunity for correction. The third step is giving a warning, and the fourth step is when the issue of a fine arises. For employees and those working under civil contracts, the fine is 5,000 drams, but for proprietors, it is higher—50,000 drams. And the next step is doubling that," he said.

He also mentioned that for employees, incomes are automatically filled in.

"For employees, incomes are automatically filled in. The returns provided from income tax are also automatically filled in. The other part—we are now working to obtain information from the Central Bank regarding the financial system, referring to deposits, loans, and borrowings, insurance compensations, so that we can automate all these flows, so that citizens do not waste unnecessary time. Benefits, pensions, separate social amounts are also going to be automated in the near future, including compensations received from the 'Zinapah' foundation. In case of implementing these, a large part of the incomes of many compatriots will be automatically filled in; they just need to enter and confirm the information," he said.

According to the SRC chairman, in 2024, 59,000 citizens have already submitted declarations, and during this year, 4,451 citizens. In 2024, 3,732 citizens benefited from social credits or social expenses in the healthcare and education sectors, and this year, already 825 citizens.
