Greece reaffirms support for Armenian armed forces reforms

Armenia's First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, met with Greek Minister of National Defense Nikolaos Dendias during an official visit to Greece. Dendias reaffirmed Greece’s commitment to supporting the reforms of the Armenian Armed Forces.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed various aspects of Armenian-Greek defense cooperation. Asryan briefed his Greek counterpart on the ongoing reforms in Armenia’s armed forces.

They also exchanged views on regional security issues.

Asryan’s delegation later met with the Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis.

Following a private conversation between the chiefs of staff, an expanded-format meeting took place.

The discussions covered multiple aspects of Armenian-Greek defense cooperation. Both sides expressed appreciation for the ongoing collaboration, reviewed completed projects, and outlined future initiatives.

The meeting also addressed the development of trilateral defense cooperation between Armenia, Greece, and Cyprus.

Additionally, the officials exchanged views on regional security challenges.
