Border demarcation to start from Tavush’s northern point

Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister, Mher Grigoryan, has stated that, according to the reached agreement, the meetings of the border demarcation commissions between Armenia and Azerbaijan are expected to be intensive. He emphasized that all information regarding the demarcation process will be made fully public.

In response to journalists' questions about whether the demarcation will continue in the direction of Tavush, the Deputy Prime Minister replied, "It will start from the northern corner," reports Armenpress.

According to him, before the start of the demarcation process, another meeting between the commissions will take place to discuss the issues on the agenda.

Regarding the exact date of the next meeting of the commission, Grigoryan did not specify a particular date.

"But there is an agreement that the meetings should be intensive," he said.

On January 16, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia announced that an agreement had been reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan on a new section of demarcation. The agreement envisages the start of work from the northern section, from the junction point of the borders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, and continuing southward to the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan with Iran.
