Arthur Nahapetyan to lead Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee

Arthur Nahapetyan has been appointed as the head of the Anti-Corruption Committee for a six-year term. His candidacy, proposed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, was approved during a government session.

Nahapetyan successfully passed the necessary threshold as a candidate for the position.

Pashinyan noted that the competition commission had presented three candidates for government consideration.

"I held two rounds of meetings with all candidates and had discussions, after which I decided to present Arthur Nahapetyan’s candidacy for government approval," he said.

The PM said his assessment aligned with the commission’s conclusion.

"Mr. Nahapetyan received the highest scores both in integrity and overall evaluation. I believe this is an important fact to acknowledge," Pashinyan stated.

Nahapetyan assured that he would do his utmost to ensure an effective fight against corruption.

The position of Anti-Corruption Committee head had been vacant since November 2024, after then-chairman Sasun Khachatryan, along with other high-ranking officials, resigned at the request of Prime Minister Pashinyan. The selection process required two competitions, with three candidates passing the final round.
