EUROPEAN COUNCIL NOT HAVE ENOUGH RESOURCES FOR ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN KARABAKH CONFLICT SETTLEMENT

The Council of Europe does not aim at taking up the Karabakh conflict settlement. Ex-chair of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe Lord Russel-Johnston has stated that in his interview with “Echo” newspaper in Baku. “I do not think the Council of Europe has resources to be engaged in this issue”, has stated he noting the mediation in the settlement of the Armenian-Azeri opposition is in the competence of the OSCE and the Minsk group established within its framework. At the same time Lord Russel-Johnston has noted the steps made by the Minsk group so far have not had any results yet.
