In his letter addressed to Azeri president Heydar Aliyev, French President Jacques Chirac noted that official Paris would continue the active mediation activities in the issue of the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict. “You can always rely on my own pledge to find a solution of the Karabakh problem by means of peace and negotiations”-is stated in the letter. Jacques Chirac assured his Azeri colleague that during his second presidential term he would make efforts to strengthen the relations between Baku and Paris.
