Members of the Youth Union of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) organized a protest in front of the Yerevan office of the Investigative Committee.
They demanded an immediate end to what they described as illegal detentions targeting ARF members and called for the release of their fellow activists, who they say have been unlawfully arrested, according to Auroranews.am.
On the morning of July 10, law enforcement forces conducted raids on the homes of several ARF members. Searches were carried out at the residences of Member of Parliament Gegham Manukyan, Chief of Staff of the ARF Supreme Body of Armenia Vahagn Matinyan, and Gevorg Muradyan, member of the council of the enlarged Yeghvard community and Chairman of the ARF Youth Union's Central Committee.
It was also reported that 18-year-old Andranik Chamichyan, a member of the ARF Youth Union of Armenia, has been detained for two months.
