Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the trilateral format involving the deputy prime ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan has long ceased to function, citing multiple reasons.
One key reason, he noted, is a lack of mutual trust.
"The trilateral format of deputy prime ministers from Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan hasn’t been functioning for some time due to known reasons — including differing interpretations of the existing text, practical issues, and, frankly, a certain level of mistrust. This is the reality," he said.
The last meeting of the trilateral working group on unblocking regional communications — co-chaired by Armenia’s Mher Grigoryan, Russia’s Alexey Overchuk, and Azerbaijan’s Shahin Mustafayev — took place on June 2, 2023, in Moscow.
